Thank You So Much For Your Help

Dear Maureen Errico,

Thank you so much for your help. And Webster says thank you too. I had no idea that there are people out there who I don’t even know who want to help Webster and me.

I Have No Idea How To Babysit A Four Year Old Child

The people who are letting me stay in their garage told me that the landlord is coming today, so I would have to stay outside in town, because she might not like the idea of me sleeping in the garage. So Webster and me are walking around town today.

Last Wednesday the family that I am staying with went to Bakersfield. They asked me to look after their son. He is four years old. He gets motion sickness (like me) and they did not want him to go through the canyon. So they asked me if I would look after him while they were gone.

As they drove away, I thought to myself, “I have no idea how to babysit a four  year old child”…..

Update from Basic Needs Foundation

A local  driver will take homeless Josh to Bakersfield, Kern County, California today to see the optometrist and dentist. Dog Webster will be cared for by someone when homeless Josh is in Bakersfield.

If everything goes ok with the appointments, homeless Josh can lift his head up high, when he talks to people and FEELS CONFIDENCE as he will have the full set of dentures (the dentist has an onsite lab).

Hopefully this is a positive outlook for him in search of a job, since he can smile at any job interview. He will look his age with dentures.

Any donation is greatly appreciated.

Homeless Josh and dog Webster are currently living in someone garage. Of course, most garages don’t have heaters, but it’s a step up for the pair for now.

He can take a shower before any job interview. SMALL STEP, SMALL STEP

People Have Said To Me: “You Take Such Good Care Of Your Dog”

***Homeless Josh mailed his letters to Basic Needs Foundation’s PO box and we are posting them here till he can post them himself.****

…..I say in return, “He takes good care of me”. Some have even offered me their dogs. One was a boxer just eight months old. Another was a black german shepherd. I declined and said “I Can only take care of Webster”.

One night Webster started to bark. I couldn’t see anything so I told him it was nothing. He barked more loudly. I looked again, but saw nothing. He got on his feet and started to bark furiously. Then, in the darkness, came a figure walking. When Webster started to bark loudly, the figure stopped and walked the other way. I could not see him, but Webster knew he was there. Webster once again protected me from the shadow figures of the night…..MORE

We Had A Great Night Sleep

***Homeless Josh mailed his letters to Basic Needs Foundation’s PO box and we are posting them here till he can post them himself.****

……..It is time for me to get inside the sleeping bag. Webster (dog) is still laying in the middle of it. I take off his new backpack he got. I tell him “I am sorry, but I have to pull rank on you.” Meaning, his Daddy needed to go to sleep, but Webster was laying in the center of the sleeping bag. So I started to lift him up, and he walked over to one side and I slid inside the bag. I opened he one side, and he climbed in, and then I draped the bag over us. The tent and the sleeping bag are warm and toasty. A total change over the tarp I used to sleep on. The wind chill alone kept me up most of the night.  Webster stretches out and gets comfortable his head resting on my shoulder with his nose under my chin. I reach out under the bag to turn off the flashlight that is hanging from a hook at the ceiling of the tent. I click off the flashlight and the tent is plunged into darkness. I can hear the wind outside, but we are warm inside the yellow room……..MORE
